THE 12th ANNUAL JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL RECIPE CONTEST
Johnson & Wales Universityis asking high school seniors to submit original "healthful" recipes in one of two categories: Healthful dinner for Four; and Healthful Dessert.

MAPLE LEAF FARMS DUCKLING RECIPE CONTEST
Duckling producer Maple Leaf Farms here has begun accepting recipes for its duckling recipe contest. The competition targets Professional chefs and culinary students, who are asked to create an appetizer, first course, hors d'oeuvre, canape or finger food using duckling as the main ingredient.

PRIZES: More than $25,000 in cash and prizes to finalists in two categories: Professional Chefs and Culinary Students. Eight chefs and four student finalists will be flown to Chicago to prepare their recipes. ALIZE LIQUEUR RECIPE CONTEST FOR WOMEN CHEFS

JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY "A TASTE OF FLORIDA" RECIPE CONTEST
"A Taste of Florida" is for high school seniors, who will compete for scholarships and prizes. There are two categories seniors may enter, but participants may enter only one of the two: "Dinner for Four"; or "Dessert." The recipes for the Dinner for Four category must include a fish indigenous to the state of Florida, a Florida fruit and/or vegetable, and a starch. The Dessert recipes must include a Florida citrus product.
DEADLINE: Feb 16
PRIZES: Tuition scholarships toward Johnson & Wales University for up to $12,000 will be awarded.

PARADE'S "YOUR BEST HOLIDAY COOKIE RECIPE" CONTEST
It dosent matter if the cookie is plain, sugar-coated or whimsically shaped -- just so long as it's made frm scratch. Parade is looking for originality, great flavor and overall appeal. Five winners will be announced in Parade on Dec. 9, 2001.

1ST ANNUAL SEAFOOD MASTERS AWARDS RECIPE COMPETITION
The First Annual Seafood Masters Awards recipe competition encourages America's culinary students to submit a recipe using Norwegian Salmon in one of four categories: Appetizer, Soup, Salad, Entree. The contest is sponsored by the Norwegian Seafood Export Council.

PRIZES: Grand Prize: Four winners each receive a personalized Seafood Masters Award and a trip for one (1) to Oslo, Norway, as part of an organized trip with the other winners and the 2001 Seafood Masters chef judges from June 24 through June 29. BAKER'S JOY "BEST DRESSED GINGER PERSON" CONTEST
Baker's Joy is looking for "America's Best-Dressed Gingerbread Person Cookie" in this artistic contest. The winning cookies will be encased in Lucite and hung in the Baker’s Joy Hall of Fame.

PRIZES: First Prize: $1,500; Second Prize: $1,000; Third Prize: $500.

MORE INFO: Send an unaltered photograph of one Gingerbread Person cookie measuring not more than 6" in length (cookies in shapes other than Gingerbread Persons are not eligible). Entry must be fully baked and dressed (decorated) in an innovative or fashionable manner according to the contestant's design. Such designs may incorporate the use of any appropriate edible substance. Cookies must be removed from the cookie sheet and placed on a plate or other surface. No broken or repaired cookies will be accepted for consideration. All entrants must keep possession of the actual cookie until notification of finalists takes place.
NOTIFICATION: 50 Finalists will be notified by telephone on Dec. 19, 2001. Final Winners will be notified by Dec. 31, 2001.
